Biografía

Actor de teatro y cine estadounidense, estrella de Hollywood en las décadas de 1930 y 1940. Nació en Londres en el seno de una familia de actores, entre los que también destacó su hermano John Barrymore. Debutó en Nueva York en 1893, junto a su abuela, Louisa Lane Drew, en The Road to Ruin. Destacó sobre todo como actor cinematográfico en David Copperfield (1935, de George Cukor), Margarita Gautier (1936, de Cukor), ¡Qué bello es vivir! (1956, de Frank Capra) y Duelo al sol (1946, de King Vidor).
